My Grandmother passed away a week and a half ago. When my Mom asked me to write a eulogy, I realised that I didn’t actually know my Gran very well. Of course the result of this epiphany is that I started with the inevitable beating up of self. After berating myself for not taking the time and realising that the never was time, sounds strange, but my gran was always busy...anyhow, I decided to rather look at this space from a silver lining perspective.

I’ve been working the last couple of weeks doing research & developing a workshop for an NGO on conflict. The purpose is to give everyone a clear understanding of how different people are that people have their very own valid realities.  And so I’m working through my speech & the workbook & the power point presentation, sitting in my office doing even more research when it dawns on me that it is really all about a little word respect.

Now that you’ve taken the time to answer the questions, do you have a better idea of why you are not happy at work? Let’s look at some possible solutions:

Research has shown that typically we change careers between 4 & 10 times! Good Heavens! was my response. And that got me thinking about why it is that these career changes took place.

Have you been thinking lately that maybe, just maybe you’re not living up to your full potential? So how can you change this space you are in?

Define Your Success

What does success really mean? I found a great quote in the August 2010 Oprah magazine which says “Success is whatever you say it is, not a goal defined by others. “ I looked at this and thought Wow!

All of us in our professional lives tend to measure ourselves against whether we are promoted, get that salary increase, receive a fantastic performance review and many other “things” that society uses to tell us that we are successful. The American Heritage Dictionary defines success as "the achievement of something desired, planned, or attempted." That something can be anything — such as financial rewards, the balance of family and work obligations, or the search to fulfill a personal passion.

So if all of the above is in place, why are we disenchanted with life?

Career Coaching

Job sapping your energy? It doesn't need to be that way!

Mark Twain said that the secret to success is to make your vocation your vacation. How many people do you know, including yourself maybe, who simply go to work everyday, doing a job they don't like at all, simply because they have to pay the bills.

A Career Coach can help you to change this. Imagine getting up everyday, excited and energized about what the day ahead would bring.

With a Career Coach on your side, you will be able to better assess your current situation in terms of qualifications, skills and life purpose . Together we will structure a plan that will allow you to gradually make the changes that you need to make in order to have a more fulfilling career. Your Career Coach in essence holds up the Mirror of Reality for you so that you can at all times remain grounded while making the necessary changes in your career.

This process can benefit anyone at anytime in their life, for those of you still in school and not knowing what you want to do with your life, to those of you who are retiring in the not so distant future.

You don't have to be dissatisfied your entire working life. Everyone has a Life Purpose. Let's find yours! Let's unlock your potential!

Life Coaching

Life Coaching encompasses all aspects of personal development as it is always important to assess your needs as a whole. One aspect of your life will always be impacting on another. The trick is to determine how and what to do to ensure a more balanced individual.

Life Coaching programmes will typically cover areas that impact on your day-to-day life such as time management, improving communication skills, goal setting, improving health, getting to grips with your finances.

With a Life Coach you gain a partner who assists you in determining what your goals are, your current reality, obstacles and the actions you need to take to attain your goals.

Please note that your Coach does not provide counselling, psychotherapy, psychoanalysis or any other form of mental health care treatment or therapy, nor is it to be used as a substitute for professional advice by legal, medical, financial, business or other qualified professionals. Here too, your coach may be able to recommend suitably qualified individuals to assist you.
