Joan Lawrence Symons needs little introduction, however, for the benefit of our younger members, here is a short story on her history...

Joan has lived an illustrious life, but we will start our story of her from the young age of 18years. This was in the year 1946!

This is a picture of Joan at 18 when she won the Miss Outdoor competition in South Africa.

Then it all happened...

She was invited to England and that's when she met Dame Barbara Cartland the world famous author of over 700 novels. Barbara was quite taken with this young beauty and invited her to come live in her home and befriended her as well as assisted her in the most amazing fields of education, health and beauty, Herbology, fashion, Cordon Bleu cookery, and much more.

Joan was a pharmacist student when she left South Africa to spent time with Barbara Cartland. This already tells the story that she was not only stunningly beautiful, but had a wonderful brain to boot!
