Why We Don't Lose Weight
In all my years of being involved in the health and wellness industry, one common problem that every woman seems to share, is her constant battle with weight loss.
The question is “why are we as a planet of females all struggling to overcome the battle of the bulge?” We have tried every kind of battle plan we can get our hands on and still the plague of the bulge will not die!!!! It is almost as though it has become a living, breathing enemy that is determined to rule our lives forever.
Do we surrender to the bulge or do we continue to fight back at any cost? Sadly we all know of young women who have fought the battle of the bulge and have sacrificed everything to be thin, even their health.
When I am looking at a client who is telling me that she wants to lose weight, I certainly do not look at how much she weighs, but rather how freely her energy is able to travel around her body. Most women have incredible blocks and sluggish energy, which in medical terms is translated as a slow metabolism.
What causes these blocks and what can we do in the war of the bulge?
In my opinion we are all approaching this issue the wrong way - we need to focus on our health first and the weight will take care of itself.
If your body is hanging on to FAT and just won't seem to let go no matter what, I welcome you to explore the magic of pH balance.
In Dr. Young's: "The pH Miracle", he shows that fat is actually an over-acidification problem.
What does that mean? Deep down inside we all know that what we are eating and drinking is just not good for us. What kind of foods are we talking about? Well you more than likely already know what foods are not good for you, all processed foods and anything containing sugar and dairy. We eat and drink things that are so full of sugar and unhealthy fats that the body can’t process it and therefore stores it as fat. Add to that the fact that our body doesn’t know what to do with the toxins we put in it on a daily basis, so it wraps it up in the fat and stores it as cellulite. Our bodies are not designed to processes those things. Am I exaggerating? Sadly no!! I am being real about what you eat and drink!
What goes on inside our bodies then? Processed and unhealthy foods and drinks create an acid base. We also know that chronic stress increases the acidity level in our bodies. The result is that the body tries to protect itself from this huge amount of excess acid by lining all the blood vessels, organs and muscle tissues with fat to protect them from being burnt by all the acid floating around in the body.
When our precious cells and internal fluids are acidic from eating too much sugar, refined and processed foods, coffee, tea, alcohol, etc., etc., etc, they just aren’t functioning at top performance by any means. Your blood is fighting and working like a crazy lady to maintain a clean, balanced environment. As a matter of fact, blood must preserve a healthy balanced internal pH of 7.3 (pH is measured from 0-14, 7 being neutral – below 7 is acidic and above 7 is alkaline).
The body creates fat cells to carry acids away from your vital organs, so these acids literally don't choke your organs to death. Fat is actually a response from the body to an alarming over-acidic condition.
To protect against acid buildup, the body begins to create and store fat. Even if you are on a weight loss diet and you exercise, your body will try to hold on to this fat because it is important for protection against acids. That is why many people who restore alkalinity in their body find it incredibly easier to lose weight.
Fat is a response from the body to an alarming condition of acidosis. FAT IS SAVING YOUR LIFE!
The key to taking back our health is education and knowledge about food intake and its effect on the body. Weight loss is the primary goal of most people, but pursuing a weight loss diet will not necessarily meet the long-term goal of keeping the weight off. Healthy eating and moderate exercise should become a lifestyle.
To achieve a balance, health practitioners recommend an 80/20 mix of alkaline and acid foods.
