A delicious dumpling recipe that's a favourite pudding for the whole family
Ingredients:
1 cup cake flour 1 tsp baking powder 1 ml Salt 4 Tblsp butter 1 Tblsp sugar 2 eggs water 1/2 tsp salt 1 ml ground cinnamon cinnamon sugar 1/2 cup melted butter
Method:
Sift together the dry ingredients and rub in the butter. Add sugar to the eggs and beat until light. Add the egg mixture to the flour mixture and mix together lightly. Pour water into a large 17cm diameter sauce pan about 5cm deep, add the 1/2 teaspoon salt and ground cinnamon and bring to the boil. Dip a teaspoon into the boiliing water, then scoop out a teaspoon of dough and place it in the boiling water. Place about 4 dumplings into the boiling water (do not place more than 5 dumplings into the water at a time, or they will be heavy). Cook for 10 minutes without the lid. Lift the dumplings out of the water and place them in a hot baking dish. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and melted butter. Repeat until all the dough has been used.
