So you’ve invested money and you’ve just bought your first property but you’re not any closer to feeling happier or fulfilled. Why not try investing in yourself? Practice the following and watch your life change for the better!
1. INVEST IN YOUR DREAMS Let me get straight to the point here: If you are not thinking about your future and making some plans you aren’t going to have much of a future. Whilst it is very true that we must treasure the present moment you must use this moment to action a few steps that will take you closer to realizing your goals. So (1) Invest at least ten minutes every morning to defining and affirming your goals. Then (2) spend at least another ten minutes realizing your plan of action. Remember LIVE the present, DREAM the future. 2. INVEST IN SKILLS & EDUCATION You won’t be able to accomplish any true measure of success without skills. Commit today to learning new skills! Don’t turn down ANY training and skills development opportunities offered by your company and if you have some money stashed away INVEST some of it on self-development and self-improvement courses. Work on getting that degree and don’t skimp on YOUR education. 3. INVEST IN POSITIVE THINKING What you think about, you attract. The more positive you are the better your life will be because positive thinking leads to positive feelings! Positive emotions in turn lead to health and happiness. Happy people attract positive experiences AND they have more energy. Use affirmations daily! Even though you may not be feeling all light and lovely there is great power in repeating positive statements. Eliminate all ‘negatives’ like ‘never’ and ‘can’t’ and stop thinking in terms of ‘lack’. For instance if you wish to attract more prosperity into your life you can affirm the following: My supply is endless and inexhaustible. 4. INVEST IN CREATIVITY Successful people are creative people. In today’s highly competitive world your ability to come up with fresh and inspired ideas will separate you from the herd. Consider your sources of inspiration and develop your imagination. Get excited about your ideas! 5. INVEST IN YOUR ENVIRONMENT Most of us live cluttered lives. We have cluttered schedules and cluttered desks. Your environment is a good reflection of who you are so start cleaning up today. You may fool yourself into thinking that you’re okay if your office or bedroom is neat and clean but if your cupboards or shelves are groaning under a load of ‘stuff’ then you have some serious work – inner and outer – to do. Furthermore investing in your environment means getting in touch with the times! Get technology-wise because success depends on effective communication. 6. INVEST IN TIME Take time to be by yourself, I repeat, spend time alone. Your annual holiday with the family and lunch with the girls is not the same as pampering yourself or sitting under a tree in the lotus position. There are a zillion things you can do that will help you relax and unwind and you should commit now to experiencing at least 30 minutes of silence every day. Avoid phones, emails and traffic jams and opt out. Take a leisurely bath and/or go for a walk. Invest in a massage and get steamed, stretched, stroked and polished. 7. INVEST IN COMMUNITY AND RELATIONSHIPS Community to me means a circle of love. Our lives extend beyond ourselves and our purpose is not to just live our best life but also to share our life and gifts with others. Community then is also about sharing. We are all interdependent. By reaching out we learn about love, justice, vision and hope. Clubs, hospitals, charities, salons, groups are all communities. Nurture your relationships with loved ones and acknowledge the sacredness of your most intimate relationship. Source of article: Yolanda McAdam - Life Coach Website: www.thelifesalon.net Email:
