About WLW

Women's Lifestyle World was launched in February 2006 when Monique, having noticed the growing trend overseas to market to women, started doing some research on the spending power of South African ladies. She came to appreciate that, in fact, today's women drive the economy.

Monique understood that when one factors in the number of purchasing decisions women influence, it's high time that this spending power is rewarded in the form of negotiated discounts.

As Editor of the Johannesburg based publication, Mum's Mag, an online and printed magazine for mothers, Monique came into contact with many excellent products and services. She realised that women around South Africa should also have access to these services and products and the idea of Women's Lifestyle World was born December 2005.

Monique sold the Mum's Mag publication in June 2006 and it was incorporated into the Mum's Mail (www.mumsmail.com) range of publications.

After Monique sadly passed away in May 2008 her step-daughter, Lana Metzler, took over the reins with the same vision and dedication to women in mind.

Lana is the mother of two and has many years of experience in the teaching field. She also ran her own company designing websites for a short period before taking over Women’s Lifestyle World. Her vision for WLW is to create a family of women who can support each other, develop friendships and build their lives and businesses together in a friendly, uplifting, online, as well as, physical world.
