About WLW
THE WLW LEGACY

WLW was founded in February 2006 by Monique Metzler. Having noticed a growing overseas trend to market directly to women, Monique investigated the growing female consumer market in South Africa. She soon came to realise that today’s woman drives the economy and has plenty to share with other women in terms of both personal and business growth and gain. As Editor of Mum’s Mag, an online and print magazine for mothers, Monique encountered many products and services and her decision to bring these and similar products to a broader women’s market was the starting point for WLW. Her passion was to form a community of women who would enjoy a deeper level of relationship than the then networking groups allowed for. This vision is now becoming a reality with the new Relation-shops.

Sadly, Monique passed away in May 2008. The WLW Team hopes to continue her legacy of enthusiasm for the task at hand, hard work for the future, and consistent care for others. To read more about Monique, visit her Memorial page.

THE WLW CAUSE

Women's organisations abound throughout the world and we applaud them all because each one seems to address a particular need for us women.

Historically, Women's Lifestyle World was rooted in "Collaboration" through networking for the complex woman. It favoured growing women within their lives and businesses.

Whilst this was wonderful, many of the structures were only just beginning to mature when it was paused due to the untimely death of it's founder Monique Metzler.

This short document helps to clarify what WLW is currently trying to achieve.

Firstly, we are still very much involved in the traditional vision and will continue to grow the legacy set for us by our Founder. Yet we have worked tirelessly on a more stirring future, namely, to create a platform and catalyst environment for the growth of women into a large and coherent body or community, so as to affect positive change in society as a whole.

Our future Vision
The power of women is being felt, tangibly, throughout the world and no less so here in South Africa. This power, it is envisioned, will rise up to take control of humanity's destiny!

Women's Lifestyle World, (whilst not a political entity,) stands for growing the coherence of women into a force for good. We aim to enhance and encourage this inevitable power and to assist in channelling it toward the common goal of a safer, friendlier, more just future, in which to raise our children.

As is clearly seen from global statistics, women are in the forefront of benevolent movements everywhere on the planet. They are the ones expending themselves in the labour of love which impacts so positively on society throughout all cultures.

There remain, however, many obstacles, whether of a political, financial, cultural or just nature that impede satisfactory pace and progress. Thus it is becoming a matter of urgent attention that these obstacles be addressed and minimised.

In the hands of traditional systems, from whence these hindrances originated, there appears to be a lack of sufficient interest, or will to make the necessary adjustments. It is in these arenas that women need to find themselves in positions of influence.

We as a women's community have instituted initiatives to assist women to become confident and purpose-driven leaders so as to affect change in these echelons more effectively.

These initiatives include our Relation-Shops and Mentor-Shops as well as a plethora of other mechanisms designed to build the inner strength of women.

We believe that women need to rise to levels of self-transcendence and self-actualisation.
To reach these levels of authenticity women need to experience success in many of their life's endeavours. This is where WLW is best poised to give her a platform to achieve.

Our Wheel of Life is an essential tool to assist in diagnosing women's current status. Help is available in the form of our (JVP's,) (Professional women) who understand the mission and are qualified to take their sisters further in their individualistic journey through Maslow's Hierarchy of needs Pyramid.

Each avenue within the Women's Lifestyle World organisation is a means to this end. As we help women in their business endeavours, we are simultaneously helping our sisters grow their relationships with other WLW members, thus systematically widening their circle of connectedness and creativity. This wisdom is pooled, as it were, for distribution to all members. It is as if each member brings a few logs to add to the universal fire, increasing its warmth to reach the hearts of more and more women, who in turn learn to find logs and add their own contributions and pay it forward.

If one were to scrutinise the WLW website, it will become clear that we are very different from most other women's organisations: Firstly, because of our vision and secondly because of our practical systems. We are not a magazine of frivolous news items and fun stuff, we leave that dimension to those best suited to do so. Our membership and audience is one which concerns itself with strategic thinking for a better tomorrow, without the comfort of head-in-the-sand avoidance mind sets. So whilst we are not stuck-up prudes and are prone to enjoy the finer things in life, we feel a keen sense of responsibility to affect positive change as a sisterhood community. We feel that unless we together act to make tomorrow safe and healthy, we are doomed to disintegrate at all levels that matter to the point where there will simply be no spontaneous fun to enjoy.

Thus the deeper purpose and cause of WLW is one of responsibility toward humanity and the environment.

We anticipate participation and attraction from women of substance and have positioned our organisation to build it's strengths and foundations on this premise.

You personally are invited, because you mirror this striven for status.

We look forward to working with you in this most urgent, worthy and essential cause.
